National Children's Dental Health Month
Local Dentists Offer School Visits and Free Care in Celebration of Children’s Dental Health Month
Minneapolis, Minn. (Feb. 2, 2011) – February is
Children’s Dental Health Month. To help celebrate, dentists and staff from Metro Dentalcare clinics across the Twin Cities will visit more than 30 schools to teach kids about the importance of oral hygiene. Dentists from 14 Metro Dentalcare clinics are participating in the Give Kids a Smile program, offering free dental care, on February 4 and 5, to children whose families cannot afford to pay for care. During Give Kids a Smile, Metro Dentalcare dentists will provide care to nearly 500 children.
As the Official Team Dentist to the Minnesota Twins, Metro Dentalcare reminds kids and patients to be on the lookout for T.C. Bear during the month as he will be making surprise appearances at participating schools and clinics across the Twin Cities.
Metro Dentalcare encourages parents to help celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month at home by having kids brush their teeth twice per day for two minutes each time.
